Touted to be one of world’s best women badminton players, Saina Nehwal, who is also a brand ambassador for Soothe Healthcare’s Paree sanitary pads, has pumped in an undisclosed amount of investment in the company and has acquired a minority stake.

Soothe Healthcare, under the brand name Paree, manufactures affordable sanitary pads at its Noida manufacturing plant. Sania Nehwal has been the brand ambassador for Paree since 2014 and now has acquired a position of investor as well.

Nehwal said in a statement,

I am delighted to have been associated with the brand and even more elated to strengthen my relationship with the company. A sanitary pad is a high social-impact product and Paree combines quality and affordability, thereby revolutionising the personal hygiene segment in women’s personal care in India.

Soothe had recently raised funds from the company’s advisor and former president of Reliance Infrastructure, Anil Gupta. The company will use the money to increase retail presence across channels, branding activities, increasing sales force and entering new markets.

As per research, the sanitary pads market is expected to grow 5 times to Rs 21,000 crores in India by 2025 and Soothe Healthcare intends to grab an ample proportion of this fortune.

Sahil Dharia, CEO, Soothe Healthcare said –

We aim to create high social impact in society and our efforts were recognized by the ‘Spirit of Manufacturing’ award that the company won last year. Saina’s association will further help the company achieve these goals as she is a role model for young aspiring girls and women, and connects very well with them.

Paree sanitary pads are currently sold at around 3000 retail stores. With this fund, the company also plans to extend its supply chain and presence in the country.
