Soon after raising around $11 million in Series A from Sequoia Capital and Nexus Ventures, hyperlocal delivery startup Roadrunnr has come out with a new product titled ‘Mailbox’ customers. The product has been deployed to significantly minimize those frustrating missed deliveries cost for ecommerce businesses.
Customers of ecommerce businesses can collect their packages at a convenient time or give a missed call and have the package delivered by Roadrunnr, thus helping e-commerce brands reduce almost 20% of the entire losses they make.

Missed deliveries is a significant challenge in our industry and we are trying to solve this by the Mailbox service. We use a network of existing stores and have tied up with new stores within every 2-3km radius for lockers, to store packages. Roadrunnr mailbox service brings down the cost of re-try for last mile delivery to 4% from 20%.
Mailbox service is being offered to all ecommerce companies Roadrunnr works with. This facility is currently available in 3 cities Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Roadrunnr is currently in 11 cities and makes more than 35,000 deliveries per day. The company works with more than 5000 merchants pan India including restaurants, food aggregators and other categories like pharmacies, laundries, florists, etc to offers same day deliveries.
Roadrunnr was founded in February 2015 by Mohit Kumar and Arpit Dave. It is focusing on business-to-business deliveries. It makes use of an on-demand model to partner delivery boys and manage lean and peak demand, and charges businesses a flat rate per delivery.
The startup has also reportedly raised a bridge round of sorts, amounting to $10 Million from its existing investors, with almost $40 Million confirmed in a new round.
