Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus, which recently launched its “flagship killer” phone OnePlus 2, has given a teaser of its second smartphone this year. The teaser image has nothing but a big X with “Powerfully Beautiful” hashtag and the image was posted with a message “See You October 29” which is most likely the unveiling date.
However what is interesting is that the message was followed by London (See You October 29, London) on its Twitter page while it was followed by India (See You October 29, India) on its OnePlus India Facebook Page. This may hint towards a simultaneous launch rather than the traditional way of launching in India after a world launch.
This teaser has also raised further doubts regarding another smartphone called OnePlus Mini which was recently listed by Amazon India on its website. Although it was removed soon but it gave a glimpse into its features which include a 5-inch Full HD screen with Gorilla Glass 3; a metal frame around the body; Mediatek Helio X10 processor with 2GB RAM; Android Marshmallow 6.0 with company’s own Oxygen 3.0 operating system; Side Touch functionality and ClearForce touch technology similar to Force Touch in Huawei’s Mate S and 3D Touch in Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
It was rumored that OnePlus could announce its new smartphone X on October 12 when its CEO Pete Lau visited India to announce plans of manufacturing its phones in the country. Now, after this teaser and the recent leak, it looks like OnePlus may be coming up with two new smartphones, i.e, Mini and X but we will have to wait for October 29 to get any authentic information from the company.
