Zomato has today announced the facility of cashless payment to its customers by integrating PayTm wallet into its payment options. Now in addition to the Credit/Debit card, Internet banking and Cash On Delivery options, customers can also pay via their PayTm wallet.

As an introductory offer, Zomato is offering 10% cashback to customers who use PayTm wallet for Zomato services from 4th September until the end of Sunday, 6th September.

Commenting upon the latest development, Tanmay Saksena, Global Business Head, Zomato Order said,

At Zomato, we look to create seamless and delightful customer experiences, and integrating Paytm Wallet into our product is another step in that direction. Customers can now use Zomato to order online from a huge number of restaurants, and enjoy the convenience of making completely cashless payments using the Paytm Wallet.

It is worth mentioning that Zomato has lately been expanding its operations and developing its facilities in such away as to maximize the customer experience for online food ordering and delivering services.

Earlier this week, it had announced strategic investments in last-mile delivery players Grab and Pickingo, and a partnership with Delhivery to improve the last-mile delivery experience for users ordering online on Zomato.

Cashless payment is another step towards making Zomato a true technology based platform which initially began as a restaurant discovery app and currently provides in-depth information for over 1.4 million restaurants across 22 countries. It has now expanded to full-fledged technical solutions provider for the restaurant industry. It has already entered the food ordering and delivery services and the company is now planning to launch table reservation and point-of-sale systems.

On the other hand, PayTm also has been able to maintain its early bird advantage in the mobile wallet segment despite its renewed focus and advancement in the eCommerce segment and the entry of various other cashless and mobile payment solutions providers.

Its association with a leading platform like Zomato indicates towards the beginning of a future of cashless payments in India as also mentioned by Amit Lakhotia, Vice President, Paytm

This gives our 100 million Paytm Wallet users another big destination where they can use the wallet to transact and pay. Food ordering is a prime use case for Paytm Wallet users, and the association with Zomato will be great for our users. This is in sync with our mission of moving towards a cashless environment in India.
