Practo Enters Indonesia, Covers Over 60% Clinics Across Jakarta On Its platform

One of India’s most prominent and globally most heavily-funded startups in the digital healthcare space Practo, has now entered the Indonesian market with over 4200 verified doctors in over 60% clinics across Jakarta DKI .

It will soon cover other Indonesian regions such as Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi in the coming months.

Commenting upon the expansion, Practo founder Shashank ND said,

We will continue our global expansion to be present in over 10 countries by March and enable over two billion consumers to make better healthcare decisions.

Practo will provide its services in both the native Indonesian languages and English language via its website and app which are developed specially for the region.

Developed by two NIT Suratkhal graduates, Shashank ND and Abhinav Lal, Practo Search enables users to book doctor appointments according to their preferences and provides various options to search and select doctors depending upon the specialization needed, years of experience, symptoms of disease and the location.

One can access individual profile details of any doctor listed on the platform to make right decision. In addition to it, it also provides step by step directions using GPS within its app to reach the doctor. The second product by Practo, Practo Ray is a cloud based service which enables the doctors and clinics registered on its platform to manage appointments and their records digitally.

Since its inception in 2008, Practo has raised about $125 million having recently scooped up $90 million funding in Series C round led by Chinese online giant Tencent and Google Capital, Sequoia Capital among other major investors. It was valued at $525 million in the latest round of funding making it one of the most valuable startups in healthcare globally. Currently it provides its services in 35 Indian cities and has over 2 lakh doctors and 8000 hospitals listed on its platform.

Apart from India, it also has presence in Singapore and the Greater Manila region of Philippines where it has over 70% of doctors (over 11000) in the region listed on its platform. According to Practo, their software solution for doctors, Practo Ray has seen overwhelming response in the Philippines region where doctors are fast adopting it to manage their day to day affairs digitally and they plan to cover rest of the regions of Philippines such as Cebu, Cavite and Batangas regions in the coming months.
