In an effort to establish its presence across different price ranges, LG has today announced a new variant tp its G4 flagship series, dubbed as G4 Beat. It is a mid-range variant of its recently launched flagship smartphone LG G4.

Compared to G4, the G4 Beat is slightly smaller. The phone comes with a 5.2-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) display while the G4 has a bit bigger 5.5-inches display. As it is a mid-range device, LG opted for a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, clocked at 1.5GHz.

To account for price deduction, LG has also made a lot of compromise in the memory department. It reduced RAM to 1.5GB, half of what is offers in G4. Also, the internal storage has been shrunk to 8GB from 32GB.

The phone is equipped with an 8 megapixel camera at back with LG’s Color Spectrum Sensor and Laser Auto Focus. It also has a 5 megapixel front-facing snapper. It is running on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and is powered by a 2,300mAh battery, which is again lower compared to G4 which comes with 3,000mAh battery.

The connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, and USB. The LG G4 Beat will be available in Metallic Silver, Ceramic White, and Shiny Gold colour options.

LG has not yet revealed the pricing of the device, other than the phone will be ‘mid-tier’. It will be launched in key markets in Europe and Latin America such as France, Germany and Brazil before rolling out globally in other markets like Canada, India, Russia, Singapore, etc.

In a statement, Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Mobile, said,

“Too often, mid-tier phones sacrifice overall usability in order to include that one killer feature. Our goal with the LG G4 Beat was to create a phone that was not only well- balanced in terms of display, camera, performance and design but delivered terrific value and satisfaction.”
