After successfully pouring in $3.5 million into Tracxn, SAIF partners has now wired in $8 million for a second round of funding for Delhi based  Travel Triangle, an online platform offering customised travel packages to customers.

Travel Triangle is an online marketplace which lets customers connect with multiple local travel agents, get quotations, customize their trips and make bookings through the site. Founded by three IIT graduates, Sankalp Agarwal, Sanchit Garg and Prabhat Gupta, the company competes against the likes of WeAreHolidays, Tripoto, TripHobo and others.

With this hefty amount flushing in, Travel Triangle aspires to cover other coordinates of the country and enlarge their team to  500 members.

Co- founder, Sankalp Aggarwal said –

We’ve created a map-based interface which allows travellers to intuitively understand the holiday packages designed by our travel partners. We have also developed an intelligent sales management system for our travel partners.

Commenting on the bright side that motivated SAIF partners to invest into Travel Triangle, Mukul Singhal, principal at SAIF Partners, said

Existing operators and tour companies have not been able to use technology to innovate product and capture consumer preferences which is being done by travel portals like Travel Triangle.

What also sets travel Triangle apart, is its verified listing of travel agents. All travel agents enrolled with the platform are personally vetted by the Travel Triangle team with never ending assessment. The startup continues to rate agents based on feedbacks received from users.

Though India’s online travel marketplace is widely dominated by MakeMyTrip, Yatra and GoIbibo, investors foresee a blooming future for Travel Triangle since the startup holds pretty appealing numbers.

Travel Triangle has as many as 450+ local travel agents spread over 35+ countries who help travellers in customising their trips. The startup claims to have catered to over 1.5+ lakh travellers in 2 years from 20+ countries.

While most other vertical in india’s startup ecosystem have seen disruptive ideas, travel is one field where customisation hasn’t really crept in. Customers are still offered the same, fixed package, be it on any of those travel websites. People’s choice of traveling has been varying over time and a need of customized travel package is emerging up every now and then. Travel Triangle aspires to capture of all those users’ needs and fulfill them with their model of business.
