It’s that time of the year, 4-5 months have passed since an iPhone was launched and rumour mill has to start churning out a few. So the first one coming out is regarding iPhone 6S and 6C’s chip supplier. A Digitimes report suggests, that TSMC will remain Apple’s sole chip supplier for its upcoming 6S and 6C models.

Various reports have already confirmed that TSMC has been the sole chip supplier for Apple’s newly launched iPhone6 and 6 Plus models. Considering that the current generation iPhones were Apples best selling models, industry sources point that this has been a probable reason for Apple sticking with its old supplier.

Riding on iPhone 6’s success, TSMC too has reported record revenues for January 2015, and guided its first-quarter revenues will register flat sequential growth despite seasonal factors.

The Taiwanese manufacturer continues to expect strong revenues in second half of 2015, due to chip orders it is expected to garner for Apple’s upcoming 4-inch 6C model. iPhone 6C will be a more affordable version of Apple’s current 6 series.

Shipments of the iPhone 6C, which will launch as the entry-level product for the brand with a price tag between US$400-500, are expected to reach 10-20 million units in the first year after its release, the sources estimated.
