Apart from announcing it much talked about wristband, Huawei today also announced, its first Android-Wear powered smartwatch, quite aptly named, the Huawei Watch, to start off the celebrations at MWC. And considering that this is company’s first attempt at a smartwatch, the product has come out stunningly well.

The Huawei Watch is a circular dial smartwatch, powered by Google’s last year announcement, the Android Wear. The overall finish on the watch is premium, and build is sturdy. Its circular dial and the overall premium finish is pretty much more reminiscent of a luxury, swiss-like time-piece rather than those other geeky looking smartwatches.

Huawei-Watch is encased in a cold-forged steel casing, which makes its almost 40 percent more durable than the non-forged steel. As for the straps, you have the option to choose either a metal strap or a leather one. Leather being my personal favourite (just so if you got confused on choice). The watch is a compact 42mm and has a standard 18mm lug width.

As for the more detailed tech-specs, Huawei Watch scores pretty decent on that front as well. It has those usual heart-rate and walk sensors, as found on regular smartwatches. The watch has a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen, a 400×400 screen resolution with 286 ppi and a 10,000:1 high contrast ratio.

As for customisation options on the watch, Huawei is offering 40 customized watch faces to choose from. Huawei says that the watch will be available by the “middle of this year”.
