Japanese messenger, LINE with 560 million users globally stated that the company has finally hit the 30 million user base in India.
LINE offers free text and voice messaging, voice calling and group chat with up to 200 people, integrated with various interactive elements such as Stickers, Timeline and Official Accounts. Line made an entrance to line-up of Indian messaging services in March and since then it’s user-base has hiked enormously.
Damandeep Singh Soni, Spokesperson of LINE stated-
In a short span of time since entering the Indian market, we have surpassed another milestone of 30 million users. Optimal user experience is in the heart of every feature that we bring for our users in India, as we make sure that our new features and services take our users beyond the usual messaging communication experience. As the leading global mobile platform, LINE now offers a variety of communication, entertainment and information features for all users in India to enjoy.
He also added that the company is on track to reach the 50 million user base by December-end this year.
LINE in India recently also offered free mobile talk-time to its users via Line Rewards on completion of few basic tasks and became one of the major factors for such a widespread user-base . The company also joined hands with online sellers such as Groupon and Jabong with rewarding deals. Line has also introduced localised stickers such as ‘Diwali’ stickers that appears to be somewhat catchy to Indian users.
