After launching its flagship smartphone globally, OnePlus has today launched the OnePlus 5 in India. The pricing for this flagship killer starts at ₹32,999, and it will be exclusively available on Amazon India.

The smartphone comes with a design that indeed looks similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. It has an Anodized Aluminum unibody metal design and is just 7.25mm thick, and carries forward the company’s usual Alert Slider.

With OnePlus 5, the company has focussed on what consumers are desiring the most these days — a mindblowing camera.

The OnePlus 5 features a dual rear-camera setup, with two lenses — a 16MP and a 20MP one. The 16MP primary sensor comes with a wide-angle lens, large f/1.7 aperture, while the 20MP secondary sensor is used to capture depth info for the depth-of-field effect in photographs — which blurs backdrops in portrait mode and offers 2x zoom. There is also a 16MP front facing camera which can be used in many ways, It can also be called as one of the best front and rear dash cam available in budget.

It comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED Full HD display with screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It didn’t opt for QuadHD because of it being a very recent set up and not having access to top-notch technologies. It packs in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, clocked at speeds of up to 2.45Ghz at its peak.

The smartphone is available in two RAM options — 6GB and 8GB. On the storage front too, it has two options — 64Gb and 128GB. The 6GB RAM model packs 64GB storage while the 8GB RAM version has 128GB storage.

OnePlus 5 runs the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system, with the company’s own Oxygen OS on top. It comes with several new features such as Reading Mode, which can alter the screen temperature and calibrate the display to match your ambient lighting. It also comes with a “refined design language” and several bug fixes to improve the user experience.

It has a fingerprint sensor placed on the home button, with just 0.2 seconds of reaction time. The phone has a battery capacity of 3300mAh, which is 100mAh smaller than that of the OnePlus 3T. It also supports Dash Charge that promises a day of battery life with half an hour of charge.

The OnePlus 5 will go on sale in India later today at 4:30 PM on Amazon India. The 6GB RAM variant of the OnePlus 5 has been priced at ₹32,999 while the 8GB RAM model costs ₹37,999.
