However, the company said that ‘Claws’ will be the first of its kind basic cable drama to be streamed on the platform, a fact that Twitter confirmed.

Twitter is adding more streaming video for its users. Michael Englema, Turner’s executive VP of entertainment marketing and brand innovation said,

As we saw with our ‘Full Frontal with Samantha Bee’ special in April, a streaming encore on Twitter has the power to reach new audiences and catch the attention of viewers who might not otherwise have sampled our show

Earlier this year, Twitter COO Anthony Noto commented that the online platform was looking to stream shows from subscription TV channels and ‘Claws’ is a step in that direction. He also said that the company was excited to collaborate again with Turner following their partnership in streaming sports content. The company however recently lost its streaming rights to NFL’s Thursday night games after a bidding war with Amazon.

‘Claws’ is set in a Florida nail salon and stars Carrie Preston, Jenn Lyon, Judy Reyes, and Karrueche Tran. The show will premiere at 9pm EST and the Twitter encore will stream at 10pm EST. For those on the west coast, this means they can view the Twitter encore before watching the actual episode.

The show is written/ co-executive produced by Eliot Laurence and directed by Nicole Kassel.

It  follows the rise of five diverse and treacherous manicurists working at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County.
