Apple has decided to ramp up its offerings for the top-tier iCloud storage plan — without increasing the price. Yes, that is correct. You can now avail double the storage on the clouds for the same price while purchasing Apple’s top tier storage program.

The news comes from various sources according to which, Apple has adjusted the prices for its iCloud storage program. Apparently, the company will now offer 2 TB of online storage for its $9.99 per month plan, letting the store pictures, videos, documents, backups and so on, on the Cupertino giant’s cloud.

Until now, the same monthly price netted you merely 1 TB of storage. So that is a significant bump the company is offering. meanwhile, the offer is also valid for all those who purchased the plan before 5th of June, 2017 as they will be automatically upgraded to the 2 TB plan.

However, the free tier still offers merely 5 GB of storage and no adjustments have been made to the company’s entry level plans. The company’s intentions are pretty clear. It wants to push the free tier folks into paid tiers as soon as possible and then encourage them t purchase the most expensive plan it offers by doubling the storage.

Meanwhile, individuals who have purchased either the 200 GB or the 2 TB plan will be able to share it with the rest of their family as well. So there are some potential cost cuts there as well. Sharing will be possible with the latest version of iOS and MacOS, both of which will start shipping later in the year.

All in all, Apple wants you to purchase the $9.99 plan. And with double the storage, it might just be a good idea to go get it now.
