Apple, iPad

We already knew that Apple was going to introduce new iPads at its WWDC event. However, the devices that the company has introduced are seriously awesome. Apple has chosen to bring in an all-new 10.5-inch iPad Pro and a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and both of them are feature packed to the brim.

Both the iPads comes with ProMotion display technology that allows users to obtain refresh rates of up to 120Hz for fluid scrolling, greater responsiveness and smoother motion content. You can also use the Apple Pencil with both the devices and deploy the pencil with an unnoticeable, 30-millisecond latency.

The display is Retina, meaning that you have antireflective coating, automatic white balance adjustment and  a wide palate of color to chose from.

Announcing the new iPads, Apple CEO Tim Cook said:

It’s a magical piece of glass that transforms into anything you want. We’ve been pushing the boundaries… and today, we’re going to push them further than ever before.

Inside the devices, you get a new 64-bit A10X Fusion chip that is capable of tasks like editing photos and 4K video, rendering 3D images or playing games. The chip is backed by a six-core CPU and 12-core GPU which together deliver performance that is 30 percent faster for the CPU, and 40 percent faster for the GPU.

Speaking on the topic, Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing said:

These are by far the most powerful iPads we’ve ever created with the world’s most advanced displays featuring ProMotion, the powerful new A10X Fusion chip and the advanced camera system of iPhone.

He added:

Together with iOS 11 these new iPad Pro models will radically change what users can do with iPad.

Camera wise, you get pretty much the same stuff that is on the iPhone 7. So, we are talking a 12-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, along with a 7-megapixel FaceTime HD camera. You also get an awesome, four speaker audio system.

For connectivity, you have an embedded Apple SIM and support for 802.11ac Wi-Fi and LTE Advanced. And of course, everything is protected with a state of the art Touch ID.

As far as pricing and availability is concerned, you can order the 10.5-inch iPad Pro in silver, space gray, gold and rose gold colors with a starting price of $649 (US) for the 64GB with Wi-Fi model and $779 (US) for the 64GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is available in silver, space gray and gold and starts at $799 (US) for the 64GB Wi-Fi model and $929 (US) for the 64GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
