One of the most requested features with regards to video streaming platforms has undoubtedly been offline viewing. It was only last year that Netflix finally relented and introduced the feature to the iOS and Android platforms. The service is now bringing the ability to save videos to your local memory to the Windows 10 platform as well — with the exception of mobile devices.

Starting now, you can download a particular subset of videos from the Netflix catalog. These videos can then be watched when you are away from a constant and stable Internet connection. Simply skip over to the downloaded section and get to watching again while you await a return of your Internet connection. The company has made the feature available globally.

As per TechCrunch, a Netflix spokesperson remarked about the release:

Today, the Netflix app will support the downloading feature on Windows 10 laptops and tablets. We are constantly exploring new ways to make this feature available to more members and make it easier for more people to enjoy Netflix on the go.

However, don’t expect to be able to download just any video and same it on your system. Similar to the limitations imposed over the Android and iOS platform, only a very limited roster of content is available for download — mostly due to rights issue. The content you will have available for download on the other hand, will consist mostly of Netflix Originals and content from some other providers that has been licensed for keeping you entertained while there is a scarcity of Internet. And you can still download series and shows like Stranger Things, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Narcos, The Crown, Bloodline, Sense8 and so on.

To download and watch content, the first thing you are going to have to do is update your application. Once done, simply watch videos as usual and tap the arrow (yes,  similar to the YouTube app ) button to save them to your device if they are available for the same. There is also a section called Available for Download, that allows you to directly jump to videos that can be downloaded to your device. There is also a section called “My Downloads” to keep your downloaded videos safe and in one place.
