Singapore-based Spacemob is all set to launch its new co-working space in Singapore Science Park by the end of March 2017. In the official statement, it mentions, it has formed a strategic partnership with Asia’s leading provider of sustainable urban and business space solutions, Ascendas-Singbridge, for the same.

The second facility of Spacemob will be located in Ascent, a 14,000 sq ft space owned by Ascendas-Singbridge. The property is situated opposite to Kent Ridge MRT Station at Singapore Science Park 1. Ascendas-Singbridge Group CEO, Miguel Ko, stated,

We are delighted to partner with Spacemob to provide coworking spaces to entrepreneurs and small-medium businesses in the thriving ecosystem at Singapore Science Park.

The space will be filled with ergonomic chairs, adjustable desks, complimentary group health insurance, payroll software and media rooms. It will also boast of Spacemob signature tools and technology to provide the businesses apt environment and facilities.

The co-working space aims to provide small businesses cost-effective spaces, close proximity to key research and tertiary institutions, R&D, high-tech innovation and start-up communities.

Spacemob Founder and CEO, Turochas “T” Fuad says,

We are delighted to be working with Ascendas-Singbridge on our second coworking space in Singapore. One of our objectives as a company is to enable space as a service and maximise space usage for our property partners.

He adds this will allow them to house a hundred companies and expand the coworking community at a convenient and accessible location. They are growing across the region with similar partnerships and offerings.

Spacemob, disrupting this segment, forms partnerships with property owners to operate coworking spaces and generate new revenue streams for them. It had secured $5.5 million in seed funding, which is touted to be the largest seed round in Southeast Asia, November last year. The funding was infused by Vertex Venture Holdings, Alpha JWC Ventures from Indonesia and a cohort of undisclosed angel investors.

Spacemob is gearing up for further growth in 2017 with plans to launch coworking spaces in Jakarta, Thailand, and Vietnam.
