Instagram, instagram stories, instagram direct

Finally something original from Instagram. Proving that it does not need Snapchat to take the lead in launching new features, Instagram has pushed a brand new update that will allow users to share a mix of up to 10 pictures or videos as a single carousel post that can be put away with a single swipe of your fingers.

So basically, if there is an experience or moment that you have had that you would like sharing with the world — but if you are confused between one, two or ten pictures, well, Instagram is giving you the option to share them all together.

Announcing the new feature through a blog post, the company said:

With this update, you no longer have to choose the single best photo or video from an experience you want to remember. Now, you can combine up to 10 photos and videos in one post and swipe through to see them all.

Again, the move seems to be aimed at bringing more content into the app. With 10 pictures or videos, users wont feel quite the same amount of pressure to push the perfect picture. And believe it or not, the quest for publishing only the perfect shot has kept a lot of content from Snapchat, Instagram and their peers. With this feature, Instagram is hoping to take off some of the pressure while also allowing users to share a story through a series of pictures.

You can find the new feature when you go to the news feed. Once you go to the feed, you will find a brand new button for selecting multiple photos. Once their, choose and edit up to 10 photos and videos either individually, or with a single filter on everything. Next, choose the order of the pictures and tag your friends in each of the pictures.

You can also chose a single caption and location to the whole carousel. Meanwhile, liking and commenting will apply to the whole post. Your friends on the other hand, will see a bunch of blue dots on the post indicating that it s a carousel. After that, it is a simple matter of swiping backward and forward to see all the pictures and videos present in the carousel.

You can get the new features as part of Instagram version 10.9 for iOS, and on the Google Play Store for Android.
