Snapchat is no longer just an ephemeral photo/video messaging app but now also serves as a content platform for teens. The company is constantly working upon the same, growing its content library by adding parties to its growing arsenal. Today, Snapchat has partnered with Disney-ABC Television Group for producing a mini series over the social media platform. The series will debut on 3rd January with the first episode of “The Bachelor.”

The series will be available for preview under the ‘Discover’ section in the app with episodes running for 3-5 minutes. Keeping in line with Snapchat’s tradition, the episode will only be available for 24 hours after going live. The show is a recap of Disney’s Watch Party series. The series would be starring Nick Viall, a runner-up from ABC’s dating competition show The Bachelorette. It is further speculated that the finale episode would be released as a Live Story. The series would be featuring various comedians, celebrities and infamous Bachelors and Bachelorettes.

Previously, the two giants had came together for special Live Stories curated from user submitted photos and videos for ABC’s broadcast of the Academy Awards in February. Speaking on today’s deal, Disney-ABC Television executive John Frelinghuysen stated,

We look forward to building on that relationship and providing Snapchat’s mobile-centric users with a unique, immersive experience around our shows and brands.

Snapchat is already producing various original shows on its platform which includes- NBC Universal, skits from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a series for The Voice  and a weekly talk show from E alongside original shows from ESPN and NFL. The financial terms for the deal has not been disclosed and the target is to reach Snapchat’s younger audience. But it has been detailed that Disney would be developing and selling off advertising packages including Snapchat’s 10 second video ads.

Nick Bell, Snap Inc.’s VP of content also commented on the deal:

Disney-ABC have rewritten the rules for how to develop daring, fun and adventurous series for TV, mastering formats ranging from scripted to reality and from drama to comedy,They will be a vital partner as we continue to expand our lineup of shows on Discover.

In addition, the two could also work on incorporating Snapchat’s new hardware product ‘Spectacles‘ for a real-world view of the series. It will also enable the users to interact with the videos in more ways than the app usually provides. You’ll be able to rotate the smartphone to view even more details in the scope of the circular video.
