Instagram is in a good phase and users of the app are growing rapidly across the world. The social networking platform is looking to keep the momentum going and towards the same, is coming up with new and interesting updates every now and then.

After adding three new features to Stories last month, Instagram has now come up with a new feature which allows you to save any post from its service for viewing it later. You can save any content that appears on the platform and view it later via a new bookmarking button that appears below the posts in your feed.

Many a times you must have wanted to revisit a post or a product by instagram advertisers that you missed in haste. This new feature will let you bookmark the post you might want to get back to. All you have to do is tap the bookmarking button and you’ll be able to locate these posts in a new private tab on your profile much easily later.

In its announcement, Instagram said,

Stumble upon a funny video you want to remember, a new outfit you like or even inspiration for an upcoming vacation.

This feature might remind you of link-saving pinboard site, Pinterest, where you can the posts you like and it gets saved in one place for later use. Basically, you can do your complete research on anything from cake recipes to your wedding outfit and keep pinning everything you like. You can get back to your pins anytime you want.

Having this feature on a platform like Instagram, is not only useful for the users but also for advertisers on the platform. The system could potentially be used by people who want to remember a post about a particular brand or product, that they would then buy later. More business for Instagram!

Also, once users will be able to bookmark videos, it will lead to increased app engagement as well, as users will go back to watch and re-watch their favorite content.

The bookmarking icon is already out in version 10.2 of its mobile app for iOS, Android and Windows 10.
