Concur, the world’s leading provider of integrated travel and expense management solutions and services announced a new partnership with the UK and Spain’s largest international airlines, British Airways and Iberia. The announcement was made today at GBTA EMEA. The partnership will enable mutual customers to get hold of business travel bookings being made directly on British Airways and Iberia channels via TripLink.

The decision to integrate the airlines’ channels with Concur TripLink, ensures that the companies’ mutual customers can improve both policy compliance and duty of care efforts – especially through the ability to apply policy when employees book directly on ba.com, Iberia.com or send their British Airways or Iberia itineraries to TripIt. Mike Eberhard, president of Concur, said:

Duty of care responsibilities are greater than ever for companies today. Knowing where employees are and having the ability to reach them is a key priority for many businesses. By integrating Concur TripLink with UKs and Spain’s leading global premium airlines, we are now able to solve a massive duty of care challenge for our customers on a global scale.

TripLink is unique in that it becomes the first of its kind to extend the benefits of a managed travel programme to direct supplier bookings, therefore allowing businesses to:

  • Ensure end user compliance with company travel policy,
  • Fulfil duty of care requirements,
  • Maximise the use of negotiated corporate discounts,
  • Gain visibility into spend, even when booked directly with suppliers,
  • Have a consolidated view of all travel programme data,
  • Increase traveller productivity and satisfaction with TripIt Pro for all travellers

Adam Daniels, Chief Commercial Officer, at British Airways, said,

In today’s fast-paced mobile and data-driven world, it is more important than ever before for companies to oversee their employees’ travel bookings and expenses. By integrating with TripLink we are offering this capability to a wide range of companies, regardless of how they book.

Marco Sansavini, Chief Commercial Officer, at Iberia, also had something to add,

By partnering with Concur, we’re helping bring Iberia’s bookings into view. Now corporate customers can properly reach their travellers, better control costs and – most importantly – fulfil their duty of care to employees.

Global Concur TripLink partners include a wide array of names and companies, a few of them being AccorHotels, Airbnb, Air Canada, American Airlines, Avis, Booking.com, Trainline Europe (Captain Train), Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Etihad Airways, Hertz, HRS, HotelTonight, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Lufthansa, Marriott International, National Car Rental, Omni Hotels, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Sixt Rent a Car, United Airlines and Wally Park. Whew…a hefty portfolio indeed, and now one that can feature British Airways and Iberia tacked on at the end of that list!
