The IFA Berlin event saw the launch of the Moto G Play. The device comes packed with most latest technologies — including 4G LTE –and is a welcome addition to the Moto lineup of affordable devices. Well, Amazon is letting you purchase it for even cheaper. Read on to find out how.
Yes, you heard us right. Amazon has cooked up a brand new scheme through which you can get an additional $50 discount on the Moto G Play. That scheme brings the price of the device down to somewhere around $99.
The option to purchase the Moto G Play for this updated price is available only for Prime exclusive Members. Before going into the details of what that entails, lets quickly take a look at the specifications of the device.
Okay, so the device was recently unveiled at the IFA and offers pretty good value for money — even at the $150 price. Packed with the latest 4G LTE capabilities, the device comes with a 5-inch 720p HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor backed by 2 GB of RAM.
Storage wise, you have 16 GB of internal storage with the option to insert a microSD card for up to 128GB of additional storage. The device runs the latest Android iteration, the 6.0 Marshmallow. You also get a decent 8 MP rear, and another 5 MP camera in the front. The juice for running the smartphone is provided by a 2,800 mAH battery that while not perfect for a 4G device, is still better than what many other devices out in the market offer.
In short, the Moto G Play may be the cheapest device in the Moto series lineup by Lenovo, however it in no way means that the device is below what we have come to expect and love from the series.
The Prime series by Amazon also includes the Blu R1 HD and Moto G. Both of them have been amongst the best-selling unlocked phones on the site, thanks to the heavy discounts offered to Prime Members. While the Blu is available at merely $49.99, the Moto G is still at a premium for $149.99.
Now, the catch. After all, you cant expect Amazon to knock off $50 or so, without getting anything in return. So the Prime lineup smartphones are available at heavily discounted prices to users who don’t have any issues with advertisements associated with Amazon products and services popping around. Prime Members also get access to some other freebies as well. As per Amazon,
Prime members get unlimited access to Prime movies and TV shows, Prime Music, Prime Photos storage, deals, and more with a pre-installed selection of Amazon apps, including Amazon Underground where over 2,000 premium apps, games, and in-app items are 100% FREE.
So yes, if you are cool with that in return for a hefty $50 discount, go knock yourself out!
