With the launch of next generation Apple softwares nearing, the Cupertino giant has also increased the frequency of release of beta versions for developers. Just a week after it released fourth beta versions, Apple has now released fifth beta version for all iOS 10, WatchOS 3, tvOS 10, macOS Sierra . It has also released a new public beta of iOS 10.

Notably, Apple usually releases a beta update every two week but its making an exception after today’s early update. Thus, we can expect to see one or two more beta updates before it finally unveils the platforms in its September event. So what’s new in these new updates.

Beginning from iOS 10, the highly anticipated platform for new iPhones, Apple has redesigned the Notification Centre, Controls Center, and the Lock Screen. It has introduced a new scanning process for AI and facial recognition feature. You will also discover a new sound while locking the device similar to the sound of closing door.

iOS 10 beta also features Swift Playgrounds which Apple had introduced at WWDC this year. Swift Playgrounds is a “learn to code” app for kids and has Learn to Code Part 1 and Part 2 with additional challenges. There are additional templates to create your own playground such as a Graphing template, Answers, Shapes, and Blank templates.

The Music app has also received a few changes mostly in the Control center. These include a new output icon, darker background of widgets, and data and day in the Today view.

Apple has fixed a number of bugs in the latest beta version. These bugs mostly relate to iOS’s connectivity to other devices like Apple TV, Bluetooth, Phone and Wallet apps, accessories, etc.

Coming to the MacOS Sierra, it can now detect Apple Pay capable phone or watch and support the service. The Photos app has also got an update along with Safari which now has picture-in-picture for video facility.

WatchOS 3 Beta 5 comes with a major improvement over its predecessors. The company has redesigned its user interface and removed the Friends screen. Also, apps open much faster on this version of WatchOS. It has also fixed an issue involving Siri due to which it did not respond properly to a request involving a deleted app.

The tvOS update does not bring many significant changes, unlike the other platforms. It comes with a new dark mode along with a sign-on for TV Everywhere apps. Apple has also enabled the device to act as a HomeKit hub.

As usual, Apple does not recommend installing beta versions on your primary devices. You can use them for testing on any secondary device. Developers can get iOS 10 beta from Software Update section under Settings on their iPhone or iPad. The company will launch an updated beta version via Public Beta program within next few days for non-developers.
