Micromax-Backed HealthifyMe Nets $6 Million In Series A

Caeruz Ventures Pvt Ltd, the parent firm behind health and fitness app HealthifyMe has recently raised its series A round of funding. The round, which saw participation from the likes of IDG Ventures India, Inventus Capital and Blume Ventures, netted the firm around $6 million (or Rs 40 crore).

The firm had already raised some funding in a pre-series A round from Micromax and a group of angel investors last year. Interestingly, the pre-series A funding took place in two separate rounds.

Speaking on the topic, Tushar Vashisht, CEO HealthifyMe said,

Our vision is to make healthy living easy, fun and affordable for all. With these funds we plan to impact 5 million users and tie up with over 500 corporate and healthcare partners.

The company is planning to use the funds to improve is technology base and increase its presence and accelerate growth in the country.

HealthifyMe has been making waves in the lifestyle niche through its innovative goal setting and methodologies. The app takes your profile and goal weight and put it together with your personal daily budget to start tracking your progress. The app also comes packed with 100,000+ foods, 3,000+ exercises etc. and lets you speak to nutritionists, trainers & yoga instructors on the go.

HealthifyMe also works in partnership with various prominent health institutions such as Medanta, Apollo and Manipal, where the app has been used in treating and preventing clinical obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular problems and other lifestyle diseases.
