Flipkart’s founders Sachin and Binny Bansal were named among the ‘100 Most Influential People’ by TIME. The duo listed were under the ‘Titan’ section of the list which includes the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar PichaiWang Jianlin, Mohammed Bin Nayef, Tim Cook, Yuri Milner and Pope Francis.

Regarding the duo, a senior writer at TIME writes,

Flipkart now has 75 million users and a $13 billion valuation. And Binny and Sachin do have modest lifestyles, by billionaire standards, but they’re also nimble tacticians and hardheaded realists, and they dream big.

The Bansals’ first made their debut in the 100 rich list as per Forbes magazine last September. They had a peak position of 86 on that list.

Another important point of note, is that the Bansals are country’s first e-commerce billionaires to have joined that coveted TIME list.

TIME is almost 13 years old now and this year there were seven Indians or Indian-origins listed in its list. These include actress Priyanka Chopra, doctor Raj Punjabi, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, RBI chairman Raghuram Rajan, Tennis star Sania Mirza and the Bansals duo.

Over the past years, TIME has listed many leaders in the tech world in its Top 100. Some of the more famous are Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Tim Cook, Steve Ballmer and Travis Kalanick.
