One of the greatest issues with buying second-hand stuff online is that you are often unaware of the actual condition of the product. The problem becomes even more pronounced when the product in question is secondhand. Understanding this, Quikr, the online classifieds platform has launched a brand new diagnostic tool.
Labeled QuikrScanner, the tool will let consumers remotely assess and evaluate the actual conditions of the mobile phones listed on the platform. The tool will let potential buyers for the used mobile niche, perform all manner of tests on the mobile phones, remotely.
The app comes pre-embedded in the Quikr mobile application. What’s more, the app can be deployed simply by posting an ad from the device that is intended to be sold. QuikrScanner, which is already present on the said device, will let prospective buyers perform over 20 tests on any android phone, including diagnosis of its battery, front and rear camera, network and so on.
Speaking on the topic, Anurag Saran, CPO, Quikr said,
C2C is a strategic category for us and as leaders in this space with over 30 million unique visitors on our platform, we have always strived to build trust and safety in transactions between our buyers and sellers. The QuikrScanner diagnostic app was recently introduced on our Android app, m-site and desktop in order to bring more transparency to transactions of pre-owned mobiles.
He also added that the app was already covering over 20 percent of the total devices available on the platform.
Well, the tool is the first of its kind in India, and is expected go a long way towards boosting consumer confidence when they set out to purchase used devices. As for if it manages to boost sales taking place through Quikr or not, well, that is something only time will tell.
