Mumbai based food delivery app TinyOwl has introduced its homemade food delivery service TinyOwl Homemade in Bengaluru after gaining success in Mumbai. TinyOwl Homemade will enable the customers to order home-made food prepared by local chefs in the locality and get it delivered at their doorstep.
It did a pilot test of its services in Bengaluru in August with three cuisine options and 1 dessert option. Having received an encouraging response in the first month, it has now officially launched the service in BTM, Koramangla, HSR, and Indira Nagar areas of Bengaluru.
On launching the services in Bengaluru, Harshvardhan Mandad, Cofounder & CEO, TinyOwl says,
We have seen immense growth in this segment—7x since February 2015. TinyOwl Homemade will be able to provide more options to our consumers and other stakeholders in the food eco-system. We aim to take TinyOwl Homemade to other cities as well in the near future.
It currently has 15 chefs listed on its app and the number is expected to increase to over 100 in the next few months. The company is in the process of accepting entries for chefs from housewives with at least 4 years of cooking experience.
The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store or iOS free of cost and lists 30 – 40 dishes a day, 74% being vegetarian. The home-chefs are charged a commission of 15 – 30 % of dish value, average order value being Rs. 250.
TinyOwl Homemade was first launched in Mumbai this year in February where it now works with 150 chefs and reportedly attracts over 500 orders a day across the three localities of Powai, Andheri and Bandra in Mumbai.
According to the CEO, this segment has seen tremendous growth, almost 7 times since February and they expect TinyOwl HomeMade to provide more options to our consumers and other stakeholders in the food eco-system and they would soon take TinyOwl Homemade to other cities as well in the near future.
