Kingsoft subsidiary and popular mobile app maker Cheetah Mobile, has announced its foray into India’s ad sector by launching its ad platform in the country. Cheetah Mobile, which was founded in 2010 following the merger of Kingsoft Security and Conew Image is known for its products such as the Clean Master security app – an antivirus software for  smartphones and PC, CM Browser, and Battery Doctor.

The Chinese mobile Internet firm, which set up its operation in India two months ago has a total valuation of $2.64 billion post its massive initial public offering last year. Cheetah Mobile claims to have more than 300 million active users using its mobile applications.

The ad platform to be launched in India boasts of  over 500 clients in the closet of Cheetah Mobile. Major tech e-commerce firms such as Amazon and Flipkart are among the list of its clients that also includes taxi aggregator Uber.

The app maker has also partnered with Facebook, Google, and Tencent in order to catapult its global rise and technical capabilities.

The platform will include strategic targeting, marketing and technical support services. The platform will be launched in September and provides the benefits of daily analysis reports for its clients.

Our goal is to become one of the best global mobile advertising platform, and we see India as the market with really great potential for mobile advertising. In addition to recruiting the best talents in mobile advertising, we will keep working on improving our data analytic capabilities,

said Sheng Fu, CEO.

Cheetah Mobile has made the announcement following India’s emergence as a market with highest number of app users in Asia.

Cheetah Mobile however has to contend with the likes of other ad tech companies such as InMobi, which are looking towards expansion in the country. InMobi expansion drive in particular, has been pretty aggressive, considering its recent launch of a new, intelligent ad discovery platform, which was launched at an event in the US.
