Orobind, a mobile application which acts as your personal fitness coach, has raised a pre-series A round of funding from a group of new and existing investors. However, the company has not revealed the financial details as well as the name of the participating investors.

With the funding raised in this round, the company will now launch its new subscription based service called Orobind Access. With this new service, it is targeting a broader range of audience, which will be ready to pay for some exclusive fitness regime offered via Orobind’s mobile app.

Along with that, the company is also planning to launch Orobind in 2 more Indian cities this year to take the count of their fitness communities to 200 and increasing the count of coaches to 600.

Orobind assigns experts based on the location of user, preferred workout time and workout days. To get started, choose a convenient time and day for your session and the app will recommend a trusted expert to you. You can make the booking from within the app and get started. Once the booking is confirmed, the expert visits you at your place and start your training sessions.

However, what sets Orobind apart, is the fact that it offers police verified, curated experts who have undergone stringent background checks. The user’s phone number is not revealed to the expert.

With “Orobind Access”, users can be a part of group workouts and sessions around them. Most of the group classes are fulfilled by Orobind partner coaches to cover the shortage of quality supply of high quality hyper local workouts.

It is also partnering with gyms, studios and stand alone running groups to bring them on its app. The closed beta of the new service is live only in Indiranagar and will be accessible to other parts of the city soon after they come out of beta.

Orobind was founded in December 2014 by Satya Vyas and Shubhanshu Shrivastava. Within just three months of its inception, the company raised an angel funding round of $200,000, led by Harpreet Singh Grover and Zishaan Hayath.

Orobind app connects people to trusted personal coaches in order to achieve their health goals and create healthier communities. It follows a subscription based model to earn revenue.

Earlier, the app was receiving around 20 sessions per day in March but now, it claims to be witnessing close to 200 sessions/day. The company is expecting that the app downloads will be touching the 10,000 mark soon.

Currently, Orobind is available in 30 communities in Bangalore and has recently launched its operations in Hyderabad as well. The platform currently boasts of nearly 200 coaches.
