Secret, the anonymous chatting app which allowed anyone with a virtual alias to chat with others on the app, has disruptly announced its closure and has agreed to return back the money to investors.
Secret lets you post short snippets of text, like confessions or rumors on anonymous basis.
Secret’s CEO David Byttow announced-
With a heavy heart, I’ve decided to shut down Secret, wind-down the company, and return the remaining money
After it’s major update or say its virtual revamp, the anonymous app started to look much alike it’s rival Yik Yak and was soon followed by the top minds of the team bidding good bye. The team, in no time, slumped to just 10 members from over 20 members initially. The application has also been facing claims for promoting cyber bullying over its network.
Secret is finally concluded to be shut down and the money will be returned to investors. Secret had recently raised a $30 million round. Its investors include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, S-Cubed Capital, Index Ventures, Google Ventures, SV Angel, Fuel Capital, and Ceyuan Ventures.
