Looks like Pakistan is allying with China, not just on political fronts but on internet censorship too. Various local reports are now pointing, that popular blogging platform WordPress has reportedly been blocked in Pakistan. We are yet to confirm the same though.

While self-hosted WordPress sites (like Tech Portal) can still be accessed, anything which is hosted on WordPress’s main site (WordPress.com), has been blocked in the country, giving a message which says,

The site you are trying to access contains content that is prohibited fro viewership with Pakistan.

However, if you have even the slightest of knowledge about Pakistan’s “temporary” blocking activities, this news wouldn’t surprise you. Pakistan’s affair with internet censorship has been highlighted quite a lot of times, with websites including Facebook, IMdb, Twitter, YouTube etc. receiving regular, temporary bans.

We have contacted Automattic for the current issue, and will update the story once we receive a response.
