Nowfloats raises Series A round to help SMEs in getting discovered online

Hyderabad-based NowFloats, a start-up which provides a unique set of services called ‘Location-based SEO’, has raised an undisclosed Series A round led by Omidyar network. Existing investors, which includes Blume Ventures, Mumbai angels and Hyderabad Angels, also participated in the round

NowFloats’ platform enables Small and Medium businesses to get a dynamic online presence in a matter of few minutes. The start-up offers flagship products which help SMEs develop websites with industry-standard SEO, thus helping them in getting a greater visibility online. Websites developed through Nowfloats platform are optimised for viewing on all sorts of devices.

NowFloats claims to have served over 33K customers already, with a staggering 30 Million touch-points every month. The company, which was a part of AskMe in India and Microsoft 4Afrika Initiative, aims to use the funds for further scaling up its distribution platform and expanding global footprint.

NowFloats is quite rightly serving the fastest growing segment in India’s financial story. SMEs, which account for over 125 Million in numbers now, are currently the trend in India. The country is already a seeing a boom in both, the number of early-stage start-ups, and the amount of funding raised by India’s more senior start-up players. Companies have started touching the Billion dollar valuation mark, led by Flipkart, which is now valued at a staggering $11 billion and looking for a US IPO debut.

NowFloats is helping these start-ups to focus more towards their core products, by taking care of their web-presence related headaches. NowFloats Wildfire is available for ₹60,000 for 6 months, while NowFloats LightHouse is available for ₹20,000 for an year. Both plans come with a built-in Analytics Dashboard, a .com domain name, Location-based SEO services and 24 x 7 customer support.
