Yes, that’s right. BBM isn’t dead yet and Blackberry is in fact bringing in its exclusive instant messenger to Android Wear devices too. The Canadian smartphone maker unveiled a few of the details at CES today.

When the Wear-compatible version arrives, users would be able to carry out quite a lot of tasks. The will be able to see the message content and its sender. One can also accept or reject BBM invites. Blackberry has also introduced in Voice-control features which allows you to respond to messages, hands-free.

It has been a season of some old, ‘Classic’ Blackberry things recently. The company had earlier unveiled the ‘Classic’ QWERTY-based smartphone, which marked Blackberry’s re-entry into the business class of customers, a category which the Canadian smartphone maker once ruled.

Blackberry Messenger is however a different affair now. It is now available for Android as well as for iOS, though it has been a flop on both. Once designed exclusively for Blackberry phone users, and a feature which these owners usually boasted about, BBM no more bears that ‘exclusivity’ tag it once showed off.

Blackberry remained tight-lipped on BBM’s availability for wear devices, with just a “coming soon” on the same.
